Frequently Asked Questions
Thinking about starting therapy but not sure what to expect?
You’re not alone. Below are some of the most common questions I get from individuals and couples—everything from fees and insurance to how I integrate faith and what kind of therapy I offer.
Still have questions? Feel free to schedule a free 15-minute consultation and we’ll talk it through together.
What types of therapy do you offer?
I provide online therapy for individuals and couples across California. I specialize in helping people navigate betrayal, sex addiction, marriage disconnection, and faith-related struggles. I’m trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), and trauma-informed care models like DBT and polyvagal theory.
What are your fees?
My standard rate is $225 per 55-minute session (CPT 90837 for individuals, 90847 for couples). I occasionally offer sliding scale spots for those with financial need, but those are limited and may not be available at all times. We'll discuss all of this during your consultation.
Do you take insurance?
I'm an out-of-network provider. That means I don’t bill insurance directly, but I partner with Mentaya to help clients submit claims for reimbursement—at no cost to you. Many PPO insurance plans reimburse a portion of therapy fees. I’m happy to explain how that works during our call.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions. Depending on your goals and availability, we may shift to biweekly later in the process. Healing—especially after betrayal or long-term disconnection—takes consistency and commitment, so I ask that new clients begin with weekly appointments when possible.
How long does therapy usually last?
That depends on your goals and the depth of the work. Some people come for 3–6 months. Others stay for a year or more as we work through layers of trauma, relational dynamics, and rebuilding. I’ll never push you to stay in therapy longer than needed, and I’ll always be honest about where we are in the process. My goal is to give you the tools you need to not need me anymore.
What’s your therapy style?
I'm warm, honest, and direct. I believe in holding space for pain and helping you take meaningful steps toward change. You won’t get fluffy advice or surface-level conversation here. We'll get real—and do the work—with grace and compassion.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes—all therapy sessions are held virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. This allows you to meet from the privacy of your home, office, or even parked car (I’ve seen it all!).
What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy is for California residents and is designed to treat clinical or relational issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, betrayal, or addiction. Coaching is more flexible, often shorter-term, and doesn't involve mental health diagnoses—but still offers accountability and relational tools. If you're outside of California, we can explore whether coaching might be a good fit.
Do you work with Christians? What if I’m deconstructing?
Yes! Many of my clients are Christians—some are strong in their faith, others are deconstructing, disillusioned, or unsure what they believe. My approach is faith-informed, never forced. I believe Scripture and therapy can go hand-in-hand, and I’ll always respect your questions, values, and spiritual journey.
Do you work with non-Christians?
Heck yeah! You don’t need to share my beliefs for therapy to be effective. If faith is important to you, we can integrate it. If not, this is still a space where your values, dignity, and goals will be fully honored.

How do I get started?
The best way to begin is by scheduling a free consultation. We’ll spend 15 minutes together talking through your concerns, goals, and what therapy could look like. It’s low-pressure and entirely confidential. You don’t have to figure this out alone.
